Sarudzai Lobo
My name is Sarudzai Lobo, and l am an Administration Consultant for GirlUnlimited Educational Foundation. I hold a Diploma in Business Studies and Accounting.
I am an African, siSwati by surname and blood and still navigating the cultural history of my family through my ancestors. Although I had not seen them in person when they still breathed in this world, I connect with them through spiritual connection and dreams. They appear as my source of guidance in my life.
Art has been part of my life since childhood. With the influence of my family, art was my daily bread, especially jazz music and old ballads, which remains within I. In the arts, I ventured into television, film, and production. I also did community work as a part of my learning and development and sharing what I’ve learnt with others. Maya Angelou states that “ When you learn, teach, when you get, give.” This quote has always stayed with me, primarily through my professional and life journey as a whole. During my spare time, I love to read, watch movies, engage myself in yoga sessions and participate in community work with the young ones in South Africa.
My Black Girl Rise moment? Well, I have failed big in particular sessions of my journey and specific achievements I wanted to achieve, and very much ok with it. I realise that it was necessary, but through my faith, prayers and knowing self, I wiped the dust off and rose again to continue doing what I need to. I am glad to be collaborating with young African queens in the making.
